History

The oldest printing technique in the world is the screen printing technique. Screen printing most probably originated in Japan, where a range of methods were quickly developed. In the early twentieth century, the western world is also introduced to this technique. England and America are the trendsetters, but after WW II the technique blows over from England to the rest of Europe. The textile industry in particular embraces screen printing en masse.

These days, a world without screen printing would be unthinkable. It is by far the most popular printing technique in the textile industry, but it is also strongly represented in the glass and porcelain sectors. Every product that rolls off the line in the electronics industry has somehow or other undergone a screen printing process. Screen printing is now used to print a large number of products.
